Fiona Candlin

Fiona Candlin is Reader in Museum Studies in the History of Art department, Birkbeck College (University of London). Her research has concentrated on various aspects of museums – provision for blind visitors, sensory experience, and more recently, on curation, collections and architecture in grass roots micromuseums. She co-edited The Object Reader (Routledge 2009) with Raiford Guins, and is the author of Art, Museums, and Touch (Manchester University Press 2010) and Micromuseology: An analysis of small independent museums (Bloomsbury 2016). Her current research is on DIY curators, and how and why they established their own museums, and she collaborates with the Bishopsgate Institute Library and Archives on the Micromuseums Archive.
